I have always enjoyed the craft of hand lettering, so this week I had the opportunity to participate in a Modern Calligraphy class at one of my favorite little paper shops here in Helsinki. Paperikauppa is a special little store filled with paper of all shapes, sizes, and textures. They have cards for every occasion and all the supplies to entice a stationary addict such as myself.
This is my second workshop for Nasty Trash and thanks to the blog it will be a habit I intend to keep. The course covered the basics of lettering and supplied participants with a starter calligraphy kit. I am a sucker for perks and benefits, and this kind of goodie bag is right up my ally!
If you’re someone like me who writes in a journal, agenda and takes notes on a daily basis, or if you are just someone interested in understanding a craft from centuries ago, calligraphy is a great art form to practice.
Stick around for more workshop reviews here on Nasty Trash, and if you are one of my pen pals, brace yourselves for some fine lettering, my friends!
You share the same passion for papers, stationary and calligraphy as I do! Brava!
